A minor in geography is available to any Arts and Sciences student who is not already majoring in geography.
A geography minor can be attained in any of the four specializations:
Curriculum for Geography Minors:
14-15 total credit hours.
All courses in the program can be included in the minor. This includes all Geography and Atmospheric Sciences courses except GEOG 1900.
Choose five courses in Geography or Atmospheric Sciences, as approved by the undergraduate advisor.
No more than two courses can be at the 2000 level, and at least one must be at the 4000 level or higher.
No more than three credit hours may be of internship, research, and/or individual study.As part of your consideration of geography minor, the Department recommends that you review the four distinct fields of specialization outlined on this web site, as well as the undergraduate course requirements. There you will see what technical skill sets are necessary to successfully complete the work.
Students also are encouraged to meet with the Department of Geography’s undergraduate advisor to learn more and customize a program.
